New Overseas Traders is the wholesale division of The India Shop, a family firm importing from India. It is a member of BAFTS, the British Association of Fair Trade for shops and suppliers, and provides much-needed employment, particularly in rural areas, keeping alive traditional craft skills.

All workers are treated with respect, have reasonable working conditions, and are paid fair wages. No child is exploited. The company uses green electricity, goods and production techniques are environmentally friendly and packaging is reused.

New Overseas Traders supports ideas for improving social, medical and education conditions for the worker families involved in the production of its goods.
