Nomads

Duncan Harvey and Vicky Jackson met in Pushkar, Rajasthan in 1989, where they fell in love with the vibrant culture of India. With the last of their travelling money they invested in a selection of fair trade handicrafts from Nepal which they sold from a market stall in Camden, London. Soon they began to manufacture their own products and to build lifelong relationships with artisan producers and fair trade factories in India.

Today they focus their attentions on designing and creating contemporary clothing that is 100% ethically produced and celebrates traditional artisan skills whilst using the best quality natural fibres and environmentally friendly processes.
Using azo-free dyes and natural fibres, skilled fair trade partners employ block printing, tie-dye and handloom weaving to create contemporary designs that experiment with pattern, scale, and colour. Nomads’ work ensures these traditional practices are kept alive.

The company empowers women, provides skills training and works to improve lives of the whole community. They have a committed fair trade policy and work closely with everyone involved in the Nomads journey.

Nomads support charities in the UK and India, helping to overcome poverty in areas of southern India and donating garments to a charity that provides help and support to children with disabilities or terminal illnesses.

Nomads use fully biodegradable packaging made from FSC sustainable sources and non-gmo cornstarch. No animal products or testing are used in their processes.
