Food for Thought – SOLD OUT
Time & Place
About The Event
Food for Thought is a two-venue event. At Fair Trader, SAM DYER from Cambridge Sustainable Food will talk about ways to feed us without destroying the planet. She will talk for around half an hour about her work, including projects such as Community Fridge and Food Waste Reduction. She will look at the global situation and focus on why it’s important to have a community response, as well as what we can do as individuals. Questions welcome.
Over at Longley's (opposite Holmfirth Library), CHRISSY LEYLAND, founder of The Vegan Approach and Huddersfield Vegan Group and long-time campaigner for the benefits of a plant-based diet for animals, people and the environment, will do a cookery demo of a tasty vegan Bolognese and Chocolate Fudge Pudding. There will be tastings of 100% vegan dishes: both food cooked on the night and items pre-cooked by volunteers at home. Chrissy will offer tips and answer questions as her creations are cooking.
A free drink will be offered on arrival and there will be plenty of food to sample throughout the evening, including Freekeh and Leek Pilaf, Baba Ganoush, Yorkshire Arancini and a selection of vegan cakes including Christmas cake, as well as Chrissy's dishes.
Meet at Fair Trader at 19:00.
