We are very excited to introduce you to artist Glen Williams, one of the artists who will be showcasing their work at featured@ fair trader in November 2023. Glen uses his background as inspiration for his emotive artwork. Here, Glen gives us some background.
What is the inspiration for your art?
“I grew up in a working-class family in South Yorkshire, where most of my relatives were either miners or steelworkers or married to miners or steelworkers. That working-class culture is present throughout my work. Whether it’s my memories of growing up in the 1950/60s or paintings of the vibrant city and town nightlife.”

Glen’s Style
Glen works in both 2D and 3D, producing paintings, prints and sculptures. He has a number of solo exhibitions and currently has one of his paintings on display at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool in their exhibition, ‘Art and culture on the terraces’.
He has been commissioned to produce a cardboard sculpture of a dragon to be displayed in the centre of Huddersfield on St George’s Day.
