Part-time Development Manager
We are a successful volunteer-run co-operative in Holmfirth dedicated to reducing world poverty by promoting fair and ethical trading. One of the largest fair trade shops in the UK, we sell a wide range of sustainable, ethical and stylish products, each having a positive social and economic impact. We also organise events and workshops and support local designer-makers.
After eight years trading, we are now looking for an inspirational leader to manage our team of two staff and over twenty committed volunteers so they feel involved, valued and committed to customer care.
The role will initially be for one day per week (or two half-days – we can be flexible), but this is planned to increase as the business grows. You must be committed to fair trade, have the ability to manage a team, have sales/marketing experience, and preferably an understanding of the retail environment. Comfortable with IT, and with a positive approach, you will be encouraged to put forward ideas to develop and improve all aspects of the business.
Support is available from an experienced team of volunteer directors who collectively undertake the role at present. We offer a salary in the range of £15-20k pro rata depending on experience, together with a performance-related bonus.
