Holmfirth Artweek at Fair Trader

Updated: Jul 24

If it’s the first week of July, it must be Holmfirth Artweek– the huge local festival that has raised almost one million pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support since its inception in 1967.

Artweek is a local event with a national reputation. The majority of the exhibitors are from the local area but large numbers of visitors come from all over the country to view and to buy. One of the UK’s largest open art exhibitions, Artweek normally attracts over 400 exhibitors and over 2,000 artworks, plus dozens of fringe venues across the local area with thousands more works of art and craft.

Due to ongoing uncertainty over Covid restrictions, the organisers have decided again not to hold the main exhibition this year. However, the Artweek Fringe Trail will run from 4th to 10th July.

Fair Trader will be part of the trail, exhibiting the fabulous artwork of local artists Jo Blaker and

Kate Thornton.

You can also Meet the Artists on Tuesday 6th July between 2pm and 4pm for an informal chat about their inspirations, processes and ideas. This is a ticketed event at £1 per ticket. Please email to reserve a place and pay on the door. Maximum 20 attendees. All proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support.
