Make flowers from recycled bottles
Stuck for things to do with the kids over half-term in Holmfirth? Why not make these lovely flowers from recycled plastic bottles?
Fair Trader and Imagine Toy Shop have teamed up to offer free craft kits for kids.
Pop along to Fair Trader from Saturday 29th May to collect your free kit. Be quick, we have limited supplies! See the array of flowers in the HoTT (Holmfirth Transition Town) community garden for inspiration, and make your own. If you are struggling to pop into the shop, here's a how-to guide.
Once painted, tag us in your story at @fair_trader_uk and imaginetoyshop.holmfirth to win a super prize.
Here are the instructions:
Get an old plastic milk bottle and lid / Draw your flower shape / Cut it out / Decorate with acrylic paints
Heat up wire or use scissors to poke holes in both lid and flower so wire or tape can be pushed through.
You can keep the flower as it is or secure it to a stick or cane to make it freestanding.
