The quirky AURA QUE RICA Crochet Coin Purse is hand-crocheted in 100% wool, with cotton lining and zip and. leather pull on the zip. It is a beautiful gift for partners, sisters, friends or bridesmaids.
AURA QUE’s hand-knitted products are made from 100% sheep wool. The shades of grey, brown and cream are completely natural, while other colours are produced using azo-free dyes. Wool fabrics are resilient and easy care, providing low temperatures are used, and retain their natural qualities of insulation, breathability and elasticity. Due to its natural antibacterial properties, wool naturally resists odours and requires infrequent laundering. Wool is one of the most sustainable fabrics in existence; renewable and biodegradable, it requires relatively little water for its production. Our wool is mulesing free. Leftover yarn from the AURA QUE wool knit range is used to create our upcycled eco waste wool range – no scrap is wasted! Our leather is sourced from a small family tannery in Kolkata and road-freighted to Kathmandu in bulk, to be used for all our leather and suede products; all chemicals used in the process are contained and reprocessed within the water treatment facility on site.
Handmade by a small Nepali workshop affiliated with the Nepal Leprosy Trust, which employs marginalised people, giving them opportunities through work. AURA QUE has worked with the team since 2006: developing new products, improving skills and providing equipment for the workshop

WHY WE SOURCED THIS SUPPLIER
- AURA QUE works closely with small producer groups that are WFTO (World Fair Trade Organisation) members. Ensuring both healthy and safe work environments, and payment of living wages is a priority for AURA QUE.
- The company aims to carbon offset all its air miles which reduces its carbon footprint. The manufacturing process aims to use minimal machinery. For example, most of the sewing machines rely on motion foot pedals instead of using energy supplies. Reusing and recycling as much as possible reduces wastage, both in the office and the workshops.
