Felt So Good

Felt So Good was born in 2009 when founder Adele Zara Collinson was working in Asia and realised the potential of felt as a sustainable, eco-friendly material. With a background in design, she knew her passion for a creative business was calling so she located a small cottage industry in Nepal that had sound ethics, safe environment and a minimal carbon footprint.

Working with the team, Adele built up a unique design collection. Now she travels to Nepal three times a year to take out the new designs and ensure the company’s values and ethics are being upheld and strengthened. She now employs over 250 artisans and plans to open a second cottage industry which will provide local people with skills and employment currently unavailable in their remote area.
Felt So Good uses natural raw cotton, dyes are azo-free and products are 100% biodegradable and plastic-free. No machinery is used – all items are handcrafted, staff are local and need no transport –and the factory is completely pollution-free.

Used rice husks from the dyeing process make fertilizer for the local farmlands and all water is purified on site and reused. All packaging is biodegradable or recycled.

Producers are paid well above the national average wage and the company is committed to non-discrimination, gender equity and freedom of association. Good working conditions are ensured and the issues and needs of staff are heard and met.

Felt So Good is a member of The World Fair Trade Organisation, Sedex and BAFTS (The British Association of Fair Trade Shops & Suppliers)
