Description
About 60 Fair Trade craftspeople from nearby communities in South India create these soap holders. From softening the raw clay to shaping it on the potter’s wheel, firing it in wood-burning kilns, glazing it, and finally packing it, every step of the process is carried out by hand.
The year round employment allows the artisans to enjoy a good quality of life in the rural surroundings.
The unit supports a school of 350 pupils.
